Under the direction of choreographer Brianna Pilkinton, Accipiter Dance is a collective body of dancers/collaborators who investigate the parallels of the natural world and the human experience through the art of contemporary dance.

Why
The name Accipiter was chosen because it refers to the genus of birds of prey that are among the swiftest and most skillful fliers. Accipiter hawks evoke ideas of speed, dexterity, and stillness. These movement qualities are embodied in the work of Accipiter Dance.
